Position: Home >Products DetailPharmaceutical glass ampoules are sealed glass containers made from a single tube of neutral borosilicate glass, filled and then flame-sealed at the neck to create a completely hermetic primary package. Because there is no elastomer closure in contact with the product — only glass — ampoules offer the lowest possible interaction risk for sensitive injectable formulations, which is why they remain the reference container for anaesthetics, emergency drugs, vaccines and biological products.
Rimzer supplies ampoules in Type I neutral borosilicate glass from 1mL to 20mL, with either a straight-stem or funnel-form opening and a colour-break ring at the neck for controlled, sterile opening. The glass meets the hydrolytic resistance requirements of USP, EP and CP pharmacopoeias, and each production lot is inspected for dimensional accuracy, wall thickness, internal stress and cosmetic defects before packing. Ampoules are supplied clean and ready for filling, and can be matched with the corresponding aluminium-plastic crimp caps from the same factory so that container and closure are qualified together.

Taizhou Rimzer Rubber & Plastic Co., Ltd has over 20 years of experience in pharmaceutical and bottle packaging, with a 23,000 m² facility and 85 skilled staff serving 100+ customers in more than 30 countries. We supply containers, seal liners and closures from one source — from glass ampoules and their aluminium-plastic caps to induction seal liners and vented closures — so you qualify and reorder everything with a single supplier. Every ampoule lot ships with dimensional inspection records, and pharmacopoeia compliance documents are available on request.
Type I neutral borosilicate is the default for injectables because it has the highest hydrolytic resistance and releases almost no alkali. Type II is soda-lime glass with an inner surface treatment; it is adequate for many non-pH-sensitive products and is more economical. Tell us the formulation pH and the pharmacopoeia you file under, and we will advise.
Yes — that is one of our advantages. We make the aluminium-plastic caps in 13mm to 22mm, so container and closure come from the same factory and are dimensionally matched.
They are supplied clean and packed to avoid particulate contamination. If your line needs washed and depyrogenated ampoules, tell us — we can quote that process as an option.
The colour-break ring is a controlled score line at the neck. When the top is snapped in the direction of the dot, the break follows the score, keeping fragments in the top section rather than the body. We also supply opening instructions for your clinical leaflet.
Yes, amber glass is a standard option for photosensitive formulations. Transmission curves are available on request.
Dimensional inspection records and visual defect inspection results. Pharmacopoeia compliance statements (USP, EP, CP) and hydrolytic resistance test reports are available for your regulatory file on request.
MOQ is 100,000 pcs. Lead time is 10–18 days after order confirmation, depending on volume and whether the size is a stock mould or a new tool.
