Position: Home >Products DetailAluminum-plastic caps for glass ampoules are the crimped closure that seals an injectable ampoule after filling. Each cap combines a ductile aluminum shell — which deforms against the ampoule neck under the crimping tool to form a hermetic, tamper-evident seal — with an inner plastic or elastomer liner that contacts the product and provides the actual barrier. Together they protect injectable drugs, vaccines and biological products from moisture, oxygen and microbial ingress throughout the shelf life of the product.
Rimzer produces these caps in 13mm, 16mm, 20mm and 22mm neck finishes, in one-piece (open-top) and two-piece (tear-off flip-off) formats, with a choice of aluminum thickness and liner compound. The aluminum is lacquered on the exterior for corrosion resistance and coding; the interior liner is formulated for compatibility with the drug formulation and is available in non-toxic, latex-free, biocompatible grades that comply with USP, EP and CP requirements. Because the seal is formed by mechanical crimping rather than heat, no induction equipment is needed at the filling line.

Taizhou Rimzer Rubber & Plastic Co., Ltd is a professional bottle packaging supplier with over 20 years of industry experience. Our 23,000 m² factory with 85 skilled employees delivers over one billion pieces per year to 100+ customers worldwide. We supply bottle factories, pharmaceutical and agrochemical plants, food & beverage producers, cosmetics factories and trading companies — from containers to seal liners and closures, one reliable source. Every ampoule cap order is backed by incoming material purity testing, dimensional accuracy checks and leakage / sterility validation before shipment.
A one-piece cap is a single aluminium shell with an open top — the ampoule is opened by snapping the glass neck. A two-piece cap adds a plastic flip-off or tear-off button on top of the aluminium shell, which the clinician removes first; this gives a cleaner, more controlled opening and a clearer tamper indication. Two-piece caps are the usual choice for vaccines and biologicals.
No. Ampoule caps seal by mechanical crimping: the aluminium is compressed into the neck groove of the glass ampoule with a crimping tool or inline crimper. No heat or induction equipment is involved.
13mm, 16mm, 20mm and 22mm are standard. If your ampoule uses a non-standard neck, send the drawing or a sample — we tool custom sizes.
Yes, provided the correct liner compound is selected for your sterilisation method (steam, dry heat or ethylene oxide). Tell us your sterilisation cycle and we will match the liner grade and confirm suitability in writing.
Three stages: incoming inspection of aluminium strip and liner compound (purity, thickness, hardness), in-process dimensional checks on shell diameter and height, and final leakage / sterility validation on retention samples from every batch.
Yes. Batch number, expiry date, logo and warning text can all be printed on the aluminium surface. Send your artwork and we will confirm the print area available on your chosen shell size.
MOQ is 100,000 pcs. Standard sizes ship in 5–7 working days; custom batches take 12–18 days after artwork and sample approval.
Yes, samples are free. Sample quantity and courier cost are negotiable depending on your location and project scope.
We can quote glass ampoules alongside the caps so the closure and container are matched from one source — see Pharmaceutical Glass Ampoules.
